Nature and scope of operations
Abalon functions as a facilitating, temporary and non-exploitative platform within the music industry ecosystem. The organisation creates physical contexts in which artistic practice, professional knowledge sharing and sector contextualisation come together, without itself taking an operational, commercial or advisory position.
Abalon is not a label, training institution, management agency, consultancy or production company. The organisation does not acquire any rights, mandates or control over artistic or professional trajectories and does not influence market access, exploitation or distribution. No guarantees are given with regard to output, collaborations, releases, visibility or professional advancement.
Participation, autonomy and responsibility
Abalon's activities are temporary and clearly defined. Participation is voluntary and non-exclusive. Participants always start from their own practice, projects and responsibilities and retain full autonomy over their choices and the application of insights gained.
Knowledge sharing takes place in an explanatory and contextual manner through practice, observation, masterclasses and workshops. These sessions are explicitly not intended as training, coaching, consultancy or certification programmes and do not lead to diplomas, credits or formal recognition. Abalon does not dictate content choices, evaluate individual trajectories or make recommendations about career paths, business structures or artistic direction.
Care, safety and fair practice
Abalon applies a professional policy regarding safety, liability and use of materials, with appropriate insurance within its legal responsibility. Participants remain responsible for their own materials; use of shared infrastructure is subject to pre-agreed arrangements. Incidents and damage are handled carefully and transparently.
The organisation endorses fair practice principles. Contributions from experienced artists and professionals are made in return for fair remuneration or on the basis of transparent agreements. Existing contractual relationships of participants are respected and not influenced. Personal data and visual material are only processed with consent and in accordance with applicable regulations. Abalon's external communications do not contain any implicit or explicit promises of results.
